My first impression was i have to leave this concession stand because i really don't like the novel because it just not my type of book but it is very educational though but i like adventure, fiction and scary books. I feel two ways about the igbo culture the first way is weird because they do mostly everything different than we do like they eat raw meat, another one is that they can have more than one wife, and the last reason is that we all live in one house with our family and they don't.The two ways there culture was different are that when they were young boy they were taught to hunt, to fight, and the right to protect there village and home, and the last reason is that they beat there kids and not get in trouble if we do that we will go to jail.The one thing that we both have is religious right like christianity both believe in a higher power. Another reason is working hard to be wealthy.

The igbo people define masculinity in two way as beating there wives at home, and by the way they treat there kids and house holds.American define masculinity by how hard we work, sometimes by not showing any emotion at all. They are similar because of the guys not showing any emotion. They are different because. It makes me feel good because we are the dominate species, but i am also kind of sad because that not how they should be treated they are downgraded.
Prompt 3 In chapter 12, we witness the uri ceremony for Obierika’s daughter. What do you think of the Igbo traditions for wedding ceremonies? What are some wedding traditions that we have that are similar? What are some differences?
The uri ceremony is s a ritual in which the suitor presents palm-oil to everyone in the bride’s immediate family, her relatives, and her extended group of kinsmen. For this ceremony, primarily a woman’s ritual, the bride’s mother is expected to prepare food for the whole village with the help of other women. I think the Igbo tradition are different and very cool to learn about because it's so different. Some things that we have that is similar is the food you get before the wedding another similar thing is the marrying part. Last is that the bride and the husband dress up in nice clothes for the wedding. Some difference of the wedding is that we have a week with our wives which is called a honey moon. The wives mother and every other girl helps cook for the whole tribe to eat. They don't go on a week vacation with there wives after the wedding. Last they have to pay a dowry in order to marry there daughter.
